Manage calendar accounts and toggles

Updated 16 Aug 2026 · iOS, Android, Web

Calendar settings — the Calendars section — is where you add accounts, choose which individual calendars feed your home screen, fix a connection that expired, and disconnect. Connected calendars show today's meetings on your home screen so you can start a note in one tap.

Can I connect more than one account?

Yes, as many as you like, mixing providers freely — a Google work account, a personal Gmail, and a Microsoft 365 tenant can all be connected at once. Use Connect Google Calendar or Connect Microsoft / Teams again for each additional account. Meetings from every enabled calendar merge into one Today's meetings list, sorted by time; the same invite appearing on two of your accounts is deduplicated into a single row.

How do I choose which calendars show up?

Each connected account lists its individual calendars with an on/off toggle. Switch off the ones that shouldn't feed your home screen — a shared team calendar you only observe, a partner's calendar, subscriptions. On first connect, Canto pre-disables obvious noise: holiday, birthday, and contacts calendars, and Google calendars you've hidden in Google's own UI. Toggles only affect what Canto shows; they change nothing in Google or Microsoft.

Meetings you have declined and all-day events never appear, regardless of toggles.

What does Today's meetings do?

The Today's meetings section on your home screen lists the current day's events from every enabled calendar. It refreshes when you return to the app and rolls over at midnight. From a meeting row you can:

  • Tap the meeting to start a note immediately, with the title pre-filled from the event and the meeting's details attached — see How Canto links recordings to meetings.
  • Flip the bot toggle on meetings with a Teams, Meet, or Zoom link to send or hold back the notetaker.

What does "needs to be reconnected" mean?

Providers sometimes invalidate Canto's access — password changes, security checkups, admin policy. The affected account shows an amber "needs to be reconnected" row and its meetings stop appearing; other accounts keep working. Click the row and approve access again. Nothing else is lost — calendar toggles, notetaker preferences, and recordings all survive a reconnect.

If reconnecting fails outright, see Calendar events aren't showing up.

How do I disconnect an account?

Choose Disconnect on the account and confirm — "Disconnect calendar? Today's meetings from this account will disappear." Canto deletes its stored access for that account and, for Google, revokes the grant at Google's side. Existing recordings keep the meeting details already attached to them; only upcoming meetings disappear. Disconnecting your only calendar also means the notetaker has no schedule to watch — paste-a-link still works.

Deleting your Canto account removes all calendar connections as part of account deletion.
