# Give a whole organisation a Space

> Attach an organisation to a Space so every current and future member gets access automatically — no per-person invites.

Attaching an organisation to a Space shares it with everyone in the organisation at once. As the share screen puts it: "Everyone in this organisation has access — current and future members." New hires who join the organisation later see the Space automatically, with no extra invite.

## How do I attach an organisation to a Space?

1. Open the Space and open its sharing screen (**Share folder** on the web and iOS).
2. Your organisations are listed alongside **Add people by email**.
3. Select the organisation to attach it.

A Space can be attached to one organisation at a time. If you don't have an organisation yet, [set one up first](https://usecanto.com/help/sharing/organizations/).

## What do organisation members get?

Exactly the same as directly invited Space members:

- read notes and transcripts, and listen to audio
- edit content — title, notes, tags, speaker names, summary, transcript corrections
- use AI chat, search, and templates on the shared recordings, without it counting against their own allowance
- add their own recordings to the Space
- invite additional people by email

Deleting recordings, filing them into other Spaces, and deleting the Space stay with the respective owners. The full matrix is in [Who can see and edit what?](https://usecanto.com/help/sharing/permissions-reference/)

## What happens when the organisation changes?

Membership of the Space tracks the organisation live:

- **Someone joins the organisation** — by invite or [domain auto-join](https://usecanto.com/help/sharing/auto-join-domain/) — and every attached Space appears for them.
- **Someone leaves or is removed from the organisation** — they lose access to Spaces they only had through it. Recordings they contributed stay in the Space.
- **Someone was also invited directly** — a direct invite is independent of the organisation, so they keep access even after leaving it.

## How do I detach an organisation from a Space?

Open the sharing screen and deselect the organisation. Its members lose access; anyone who was also invited by email keeps theirs.

Deleting the organisation itself has the same effect on all its Spaces at once: "Folders attached to this organisation lose their org access. Directly-shared members keep theirs."

## FAQ

### Who can attach an organisation to a Space?

The Space's owner controls sharing from the sharing screen. You can only attach organisations you belong to.

### Do org-shared recordings count against members' quotas?

No. AI use on shared recordings is not metered against the member's plan, and transcription minutes are always counted against the recording's owner. For team-wide billing, a Team plan covers the whole organisation with one bill — see [What does the Team plan include?](https://usecanto.com/help/billing/team-plan/)

### Is this the same as a Team plan?

No — organisations and Spaces are sharing features available on every plan. The Team plan adds paid seats and organisation-wide Pro limits on top. See [What do Free, Pro, and Team include?](https://usecanto.com/help/billing/plans/)
