# See your day at a glance with Insights

**Insights** is a web-only view that maps your recordings onto the clock: one 24-hour dial per day, with each recording drawn at the time it happened. The page's own words: "Your day, mapped in time." It answers "what did my Tuesday actually look like" the way a list of titles can't.

## How do I open Insights?

In the web app's sidebar, choose **Insights** (it lives at `/insights`). There's no equivalent screen in the iOS or Android apps — this is one of the web's extras, like [Analytics](https://usecanto.com/help/organize/analytics-web/).

## How do I read the dial?

The dial is a 24-hour clock face for a single day — **12am** at one pole, **12pm** at the other — and each recording appears as an arc at the hour it took place, sized by its duration. Around the dial you see the day's totals: how many recordings and how much time was recorded that day.

- **Jump into a recording** — select its arc to open it, notes and all.
- **Change days** — step backward and forward one day at a time (**Previous day** / **Next day**).
- **Empty days** — a day without recordings says so: "Nothing recorded on this day."

Because the dial shows time-of-day, patterns show up that lists hide: back-to-back meeting blocks, the gap where lunch used to be, the late-evening voice memos.

## What counts as being "on" a day?

A recording appears on the day it was recorded — including notetaker meetings and [imported audio](https://usecanto.com/help/recording/import-audio-web/), which lands on the day of import. Everything you have in your library is eligible; there's no separate opt-in.

## Is Insights visible to anyone else?

No. Insights is computed from your own library view and shown to you only. Sharing a recording or a Space shares that content — it never shares your Insights, day patterns, or usage.

### Why is a meeting missing from the dial?

Check that it's actually in your library — a meeting the notetaker never recorded, or a recording that failed to upload, won't appear anywhere, Insights included. See [My recording is lost or silent](https://usecanto.com/help/troubleshooting/recording-lost-or-silent/).

### Can I see a week or month at once?

Insights is deliberately one day at a time. For aggregates over longer periods — total time recorded, streaks, busiest day — use [Analytics](https://usecanto.com/help/organize/analytics-web/), which covers exactly that.

### Will Insights come to the phone apps?

There's nothing to configure or sync — it's a different lens on the same library — but today the page exists only on the web at usecanto.com.
